Explore the colorful and enchanted land of Andalusia in the south of Spain.  The 700 years of Moorish occupation has left some incredible remains and more that just a little for the history books.  Highlights include Seville and Cordoba, both of which were once capitals of the Moorish Emirate.  And although Spain shares the Iberian Peninsula with Portugal, you will find a wonderful contrast in the two cultures.  The southern coast of Portugal is known as the Algarve and for many a vacation paradise frequently visited by the residents of Spain.

Day 1

Arrive in Seville.  Transportation to Hotel.  Experience the Spanish bullfight (if available).  Welcome Dinner!

Day 2

Guided tour of Seville to include the Moorish Alcazar and the Christian Cathedral.  This is the most important city in the south of Spain and has all of the characteristics to prove it.  Introduction to the tapas of Andalusia and the wines of Spain.

Day 3

Visit to Cordoba and the Mezquita.  The mosque built by the Moors is one of the most interesting and significant structures in this part of Spain.  A church was built within the mosque after the departure of the Moors.  Traditional Spanish lunch featuring specialties of the area.  Return to Seville.

Day 4

Travel to Vilamoura on the Algarve coast of Portugal.  Traditional Portuguese lunch at a seaside village.  Optional visit to the Spa and Health and Wellness Center.  An evening exploring the wines and Port of Portugal.

Day 5

Visit to the small villages and beautiful coastline of the Algarve of Portugal.  Travel to Sagres to see the corner of Europe from the fortress.  Visit the seaside town of Albufeira before returning to Vilamoura.

Day 6

Travel to Seville with a stop along the way at a local wine producer.  Enjoy an evening of Flamenco and a Grand Finale Dinner in the historic center of Seville.

Day 7

Departure from Seville.

When you think of Spain, the fiestas and the local color; it is at its best in Andalusia.  But add a visit to Portugal and you have a wonderful snapshot of Iberia and everything it has to offer.
